US Health and Wellness Benefits Leader
Job Description Summary
The US Health and Wellness Benefits leader is responsible for strategy and design of US health and wellness programs at GE Vernova. Programs include medical, dental, vision, disability, life and accident insurance, and all other voluntary benefits available to US employees. This role is accountable for leading and driving how GE Vernova will deliver its US health and wellness benefit programs in an operationally effective, financially prudent, legally compliant, competitive, and innovative way.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a holistic, multi-year US health and wellness strategy that aligns with GE Vernova's overall objectives
- Manage, lead and mentor the team responsible for end-to-end design and strategy for medical, dental, vision, wellness, life insurance, disability, and ancillary programs
- Conduct external benchmarking and market research to ensure our benefits remain competitive and attractive to current and potential employees
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to drive engagement and educate employees about our benefits programs
- Oversee work with internal partners to prepare and distribute benefits communications, including plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and open enrollment materials
- Develop and maintain metrics and key performance indicators to measure the impact and value of benefits programs
- Prepare regular reports on benefits utilization, costs and employee satisfaction to inform decision-making by senior leadership
- Lead and manage benefits vendors and external partners to ensure programs are delivered effectively and in a manner that drives positive employee experience
- Collaborate and partner with the HR People Operations and employee relations teams on effective management of employee issues and escalation support
- Work with Legal to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA)
- Partner with internal finance teams on US benefits accounting and manage the governance, approval process and reporting for budgeting and funding of US benefits
- Partner with finance and procurement teams to ensure all benefit payments are made in compliance with contractual terms
- Lead ad hoc projects
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 15+ years of progressive US health and wellness benefits management with experience working with executive leadership on strategies to meet business objectives
- 5+ years of experience with direct responsibility leading the US Health and Wellness Benefits function for large, complex, multi-segment organizations
- Strong program and vendor performance management, analysis and budget management experience
- Strong understanding of regulations and laws that apply to US health and wellness benefit plans and thorough knowledge of how the benefits function operates and impacts the business
- Significant experience with collective bargaining agreements and strong understanding of employee benefits in union contracts
- Demonstrated business, financial, and HR acumen with strong project management capability, deep analytical ability, and creative problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of translating vision into executable strategy and successfully navigating ambiguity and risk benefit analysis
- Ability to use data and metrics to create rationale for recommendations
Desired Characteristics:
- Lean working knowledge and experience
- Actuarial or pension consulting experience
- Strong track record in developing and conducting projects unilaterally in all stages (planning, kick off, work coordination, proposal, implementation, and handover to local HR)
- Able to work independently by leading, guiding, and coordinating others and operating within a defined budget
- Experience in providing independent guidance and advice to HR, business leaders, and employee committees at various levels of experience and hierarchy in the organization Ability to adapt advisory style and tailor final products to target audiences
- Understanding of finance for business
- Eye for detail, confidence to challenge and ask questions
- Can-do attitude with a strong sense of accountability as well as interdependence
- Ability to work under broad or limited supervision
- Logical, structured and process-oriented thinking
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; quick adaptability to systems, tools and processes

The salary range for this position is $232,000 to $348,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits.
