The role

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will keep our Marketplace platform stable, secure, and highly available - acting as a proactive partner to engineering teams to prevent incidents before they happen. In 2025, our platform saw only 6 minutes of downtime, and you will help us maintain that standard while executing a migration to a new AWS region.

This role blends hands-on maintenance work (reducing tech debt, improving deployments, strengthening observability) with engineering and automation that makes the platform easier to operate over time.

You won't be a "ticket mover" here. You will work in a "you build it, you run it" culture, but without the burnout. Thanks to our US-based counterparts, we operate a follow-the-sun model, meaning no scheduled on-call duties after 5:00 PM Warsaw time.

Monthly gross remuneration for this position ranges from PLN 17,000 to PLN 19,000 under an employment contract (CoE/umowa o pracę). Final compensation is determined based on experience and skill level.

Where you'll work

You must be located in Poland to be considered for this position. You'll have the flexibility to choose between remote work or working from our office in Warsaw.

What you'll be doing

• Split your time 50/50 between keeping the lights on (maintenance/support) and active development (improving automation and tooling).
• Contribute to major roadmap projects, such as the migration of our infrastructure stack to a different AWS region to improve cost and availability.
• Participate in our "Sheriff" rotation (approx. 1 week per month during standard office hours), acting as the primary point of contact for infrastructure ad-hoc support to prevent interruptions for the rest of the team.
• Investigate logs, debug crashing pods, and troubleshoot complex distributed system issues using observability tools - going deeper than just deploying charts.
• Use modern AI tools (ClaudeCode, Cursor) to automate toil and speed up workflows, maintaining a realistic balance between using new tech and relying on proven engineering principles.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar) beyond hobbyist-level work on complex systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Programming background (any language) and programmatic thinking/understanding of software development principles.
• Understanding of web application fundamentals (HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, GET, POST, PUT).
• Realistic mindset about tools and technologies.
