The On-Site Repair (OSR) Winder-Apprentice will serve as on the job assistant and trainee, in the repairs of certain generator stator and generator field equipment; as well as fulfill necessary required training.

** Winders are required to travel domestically/internationally in coach class via air and drive for long periods of time in standard size vehicles. Tech assignments vary working in often difficult, sometimes extreme conditions indoor and outdoor. Winders are required to walk long distances, stand, kneel, sit and climb multiple flights of stairs for various durations throughout their day. Winders perform operations involving upper body strength for dismantling, rewinding and repairing using repetitive movements with hands and wrists, and reassembling equipment using both upper and lower body to lift, carry, climb and crawl at times in confined spaces. This work may also include long duration kneeling and in crouched positions. Winders need to demonstrate full range of motion and dexterity to perform essential job functions. During peak seasons, winders typically work 12+hrs for extended durations either dayshift or nightshift. Winders are required to use hard hats, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and safety toe work boots; some jobs and job tasks require wearing respirators. Winders may be required to wear fire retardant clothing as well as Tyvek suits for certain tasks which at times can be cumbersome, heavy duty and in extreme weather conditions may increase fatigue (heat stress). Cognitive skills required daily include retrieving info from memory, use logic to solve problems and focusing attention when distractions are present.

The pay for this position is $38.19. This position is also eligible for a night shift bonus. This posting is expected to close on May 20, 2026.
