Overview
The Sr. Buyer purchases goods and services for SnapNrack. The Sr. Buyer drives the procurement process and closely interacts with multiple internal departments to assist and review business requirements. This role negotiates with suppliers on a regular basis, sets and achieves cost reduction targets, examines prices, reviews and manages availability of products or services; compares scopes of work and reviews alternatives to fulfill objectives. The Sr. Buyer updates procurement policy and procedural documentation as needed.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the purchase order (PO) placing process to ensure on time delivery of product and on-time payment of all invoices
- Leads the exception management process and holds suppliers accountable when POs come through with inaccurate detail
- Creates purchase orders from requisitions
- Facilitates periodic requests for quote to all appropriate vendors to insure competitive pricing and payment terms, as well as managing the portfolio of items that the company carries
- Analyzes spend data seeking opportunities to reduce cost, consolidate spend and support in sourcing strategy development
- Identifies and executes cost and payment terms improvement plans with suppliers
- Monitors supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintaining a supplier scorecard to ensure company requirements are met and supplier is aware of their performance
- Negotiates contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and reviews opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
- Supports leadership with driving cost, technology and value improvements with suppliers across the Supply Chain
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive purchasing experience in related field
- Ability to effectively participate as a member of a project team, interfacing with various departmental representatives
- Analytical capability in terms of metrics, volumes, trends, financial information is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects in an environment of competing priorities
- Solid problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong computer skills including G-Suite knowledge, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience in Oracle / SAP / Similar ERP
- Solar and/or Solar Racking experience is highly preferred.
Compensation varies based on location and experience

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$78,708.46 to $104,944.61
