Account Executive 2 (Hi-Tech Vertical Sales)

Job Summary
We are seeking an Account Executive 2 to drive new business acquisition and account expansion across the newly formed Hi-Tech Vertical in APAC. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic account plans, building trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, and managing complex sales cycles to deliver Equinix's full portfolio of digital infrastructure solutions. This role requires a proven ability to engage senior decision-makers, lead complex negotiations, and consistently achieve revenue growth objectives through solution-led selling, strategic account development, and long-term customer partnership. This role requires a proven ability to learn and deploy new AI powered solutions and engagements specific to the Hi-Tech Vertical.
Responsibilities
Build Customer Relationships
- Strategically plan, build, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within large Hi-Tech and AI centric enterprise portfolios
- Conduct quarterly business reviews to identify opportunities for expanding AI, cloud, hybrid, and multi-cloud solutions, ensuring cross functional alignment with multiple stakeholders across diverse business segments
- Proven record of existing strategic relationships across Hi-Tech Enterprise customers (SaaS, NeoClouds, FinTech, Hi-Tech manufacturing, etc.)
Leverage Internal & External Partners
- Collaborate with the extended commercial & sales team including Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Sales Operations and Finance) and external partners (Reseller, Strategic Alliance, etc.)
- Engage with peer representatives within enterprise service providers to map opportunities and drive effective account penetration
- Demonstrate cross-region collaboration to align Equinix's global solutions with customer objectives, ensuring scalability and compliance
Account Planning
- Conduct in-depth research to understand the organizational landscape and compliance requirements of enterprise accounts
- Develop account plans focused on maintaining and expanding key relationships while meeting procurement policies and budgeting cycles
Solution Selling
- Identify the business needs, technical challenges, and compliance requirements of commercial & hybrid enterprise clients, matching them with Equinix solutions
- Deliver AI centric and Inference focused solution-focused pitches tailored to large Tech enterprise use cases, highlighting Equinix's global network footprint and industry-leading multi-cloud infrastructure
- Sell the full suite of Equinix offerings, including hybrid multi-cloud connectivity, Managed Private Cloud (MPC), and secure data center interconnection, ensuring adherence to government data privacy standards
Territory Planning
- Prioritize a target list of Hi-Tech and enterprise accounts to meet short- and long-term sales objectives
- Provide accurate forecasts, ensuring consistency with budget timelines
Prospecting
- Work with the Opportunity Development Team, Marketing and Channel Partners to qualify leads and align them with our customer development/procurement frameworks
- Fill the sales funnel with high-propensity prospects, driving new business through industry contacts within the Hi-Tech and NeoCloud enterprise ecosystems
Negotiation
- Facilitate commercial offers and contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with procurement policies
- Partner with sales leadership, commercial solutions, and P&L teams to recommend deal structures and obtain best possible commercial terms.
Mentorship and Leadership
- Embrace guidance from leadership and senior team members to continuously refine skills and best practices
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in commercial sales, with demonstrated success in managing large commercial & enterprise accounts
- Strong understanding of Equinix's product suite, including Managed Private Cloud, Hybrid Multi-cloud Networking, and secure interconnection platforms is highly preferred
- Strong communication, planning, and negotiation skills, with a focus enterprise agility
- Fluency in Mandarin is required due to the need to regularly engage with and support Mandarin-speaking customers across the Greater China market
